About The Prize

The Global Creative Writing Competition was founded by students and teachers from Vancouver, BC.
The organization was created by a shared passion for storytelling and writing. It believes words will and can inspire, encourage new perspectives, and engage with new ideas and people. The organization hopes to spread ambition for writing and accepts any form of writing contributed, encouraging more people to echo their creativity and diverse ideas as they continue to thrive.

Award details for Summer Contest 2026 are listed on the dedicated contest page.
Certificate and publication with the award achieved. Winners may also include a photo and biography on the website.
The next 3% of entries receive a certificate and publication with the award achieved, plus an optional website photo and biography.
The next 5% of entries receive a certificate and publication with the award achieved, plus an optional website photo and biography.
The next 20% of entries receive a certificate, with their name and school recognized on the website. Shortlisted work is not published.
Judging Criteria

Originality
A fresh perspective, thoughtful idea, or distinctive approach.
Clarity
Clear structure, precise language, and easy-to-follow development.
Evidence
Relevant examples, support, and citations for factual claims.
Style
Strong sentence craft, voice, tone, and attention to audience.
Impact
A lasting impression that makes readers think, feel, or question.
